Overlooking the beach, Avila Seaside Lodge is a 54- room high-end boutique resort built on two levels. Hotel lobby, conference center, and parking occupy the lower level while sun deck, building units and a majority of the gardens are located on the upper level on top of the underground parking structure.
Hardscape design included the creation of patio spaces around the pool as well as the sun deck, conference plaza, and lobby entrance. Paving materials and colors were chosen to compliment the ’California Beach Bungalow’ architectural vernacular. Fountains were created and used as focal points in these gathering spaces. Overall planting reflected the native coastal landscape and also included other tropical species.
